Projects

AIAS Bologna works closely with the territorial network of public and private social and health services as well as with the local public educational system supporting students with disabilities in their learning pathways; we train operators, teachers and educators and develop and disseminates new knowledge, skills, methodologies for intervention and technologies.

We support public bodies, contributing to the definition of social and health policies and strategies through research, surveys and needs analyses; we draw on cutting edge experience and best practice in Europe and contribute to the promotion of policies favouring disabled people and their families and quality in the services at their disposal. Furthering the quality of life of persons with disabilities and their families, as well as their full participation in society are the reasons of existence of AIAS.

Innovation and participation is further obtained by international projects which have allowed us to work in areas such as education (EDUROB on educational robotics), technological innovation (ProACT on sensortechnology for independent living of older adults), assistive technology (TOBI project on Brian computer interaction), violence prevention against children with disabilities (Daphneprojects), gender issues (RiseWIse), flexible housing solutions and training program both for persons with disabilities (ATLEC project), for carers (European Care Certificate) and for professionals (KPT-Project: Guidelines for lifelong learning in Assistive Technology).
