This conference is suitable for all those interested in education and training in Assistive Technology (AT) throughout Italy and the rest of Europe. This includes delegates from;

· Organisations providing health and social care

· Organisations representing the interests of people with disabilities
· Statutory organisations and their policy makers
· Companies producing and selling assistive aids
· Individual professionals in health, education and social services
The conclusion of the Keeping Pace with Assistive Technology Project provides the opportunity to meet and discuss significant AT education and training experiences within Europe and to discuss strategies to further develop this important field of learning.
The morning session will be introductory and the KPT project outcomes will be presented. The afternoon session is dedicated to key Italian and European initiatives in AT Education and Training. This session will focus on:
- The rational and the motivation behind the initiatives
- The impact of the training needs on the design of the courses
- The results obtained
- The lessons learned by the promoters
- The sustainability of the courses.
This conference will be valuable for AT learning programme organisers, and will contribute to the development of policy and cultural awareness concerning lifelong learning in AT for the benefit of people with disabilities.
Languages: Italian and English with simultaneous translation.
